About the project / position
The successful candidate will work in the area of AI-based medical image analysis with a focus on cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging. CMR is a powerful non-invasive modality for the diagnosis and management of cardiovascular diseases; however, current analysis methods face limitations related to data sparsity and variability, affecting the accuracy and clinical impact of CMR. In this role, the successful candidate will develop and validate advanced analysis techniques using deep learning. They will work under the supervision of the Project Coordinator (Dr. Xenios Milidonis) and will be based at CYENS Centre of Excellence, within a vibrant interdisciplinary research environment combining expertise in AI, image processing, computational methods, and healthcare technologies.
Responsibilities of Research Associate:
- Perform data curation, preprocessing, and quality control of clinical CMR datasets
- Design, train and evaluate a deep learning model for 3D reconstruction of CMR perfusion images
- Perform image analysis and interpret results in collaboration with the Coordinator and other clinical partners
- Prepare and publish high-quality scientific manuscripts
- Contribute to the preparation of project deliverables and dissemination materials
- Contribute to other activities of the group and the Centre
