About the Position
The Laboratories Assistant/Technician will provide support to the Research Department Laboratories and the activities they facilitate. The laboratories are equipped with an XR stage for Virtual Film Production, a Virtual Reality Studio and a volumetric capturing system. In the future the lab will acquire additional equipment for various purposes. This position requires training and experience in the operation, design, and maintenance of equipment, including software, hardware, infrastructure, and workflow management.
The successful candidate will be reporting to the respective Laboratories Manager.
Responsibilities of Laboratories Assistant/Technician:
- Provide support and oversight of the Research Department Laboratories, ensuring they are maintained, and utilised effectively.
- Oversee the daily operations of the laboratories, including safety training and compliance, coordinating use by CYENS employees, and assisting researchers and their groups in the use of equipment.
- Maintain and update the laboratories' inventory of equipment and supplies.
- Conduct regular maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Troubleshoot and fix equipment or any workflow that fails.
- Learn to operate existing and new equipment and their workflows.
- Assist researchers with their experimental protocols, providing technical support and troubleshooting.
- Assist and organise customers based on their specific needs.
- Document laboratory procedures and results, maintaining accurate records for traceability and compliance.
- Comply with all applicable safety and health regulations.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment in the laboratories.
